In addition to creating quality products, Daneson also pledges to plant 100 trees for every tree felled to make their toothpicks.

Daneson's obsession with quality naturally extends to the eCommerce experience on their website. With a majority of their customers shopping from mobile devices, it's imperative that the browsing experience lives up to the brand's promise.

"Speed is always top of mind for us because we know how it affects conversion," says Clayton. "We always think about speed when designing our experiences." The team as a whole regularly performs speed tests to gauge site performance.

The impact of COVID-19 on retail revenue industry-wide also made eCommerce acceleration even more critical for Daneson. Shopify's dominant position in B2C eCommerce makes the platform a natural fit for Daneson's needs, but the company is always looking for ways to improve.

Zycada speed boost drives higher sustained conversion, speeds up server responses

"I reached out to Zycada after learning about the 2020 funding round," says Clayton. He was intrigued by the proposition and got in touch with the team for a proof of concept trial.

The result? Daneson achieved a 45% boost in conversion rate through Zycada and sped up page load times. 82% of visitors have a largest contentful paint (LCP) score of under 2.5 seconds, compared to 67% without Zycada.
